When I got home tonight, after an obscenely long day (I hate Mondays and Wednesdays), I came home and found Fine Cooking magazine dedicated entirely to cookies lying on my pillow. (Thanks Mom!) She knows what is around the corner - the RoD Holiday Cookie Bake-Off. Of course, since I won last year, I don't need to bake competitively this year. It looks like a really excellent collection of recipes, though, just in case people are looking for inspiration.
We should have the rules up soon, so watch this space and RoD! Rules are up at RoD!
Go, bakers, go! Let the trash talking and baking begin!
So wish I could enter since I have lots of free time, but I'm not sure how the cookies would fare in a trans-Atlantic shipment. I will definitely try to make your Orangette winners, though!
By the way, I got the Fleet Foxes cd today and its cover is a painting by Pieter the Elder Bruegel, which reminded me of some of that Hieronymus Bosch stuff we saw in the Boijmans (but not as creepy). Good times.

Sigh. Why is it that when you move and we no longer share a kitchen that you start to get baking prizes? You should not live far away from a friend who can bake good cookies.
And also, one would not think that it is possible to employe "technique" when making boxed mac 'n' cheese, but Claire taught me and can I say, it is GOOD.
Be fair but just, oh tasty arbiter.
